The Taubman Museum of Art in downtown Roanoke was named for the Taubman family who funded its construction and have long been serious supporters of the arts in the Roanoke Valley region. Since opening in 2008 the super modern museum has transformed the “Star City of the South” into a cultural destination for the Mid-Atlantic region.

Major museums and cultural centers provide inspiring and often free access to culture, art, social interaction, and family fun. But those same institutions need extra financial support during tight economic times in order to continue full operations. The Taubman family has created a grant to assist creative non-profit institutions based in the region.
