living modern Shenandoah

A small rural town in Clarke County, Virginia just east of Winchester may seem an unlikely place for a modern design studio to thrive, but Berryville based Carter Burton Architects created a home on a bluff overlooking the Shenandoah River in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia. The result is an extraordinary and purposeful engagement with the landscape, complete with a glass tower rising above the horizon to frame views of the distant ridge line.
